A great community service provider is asking for goodhearted citizens to "click" on their behalf every day this Month.
Cornerstone Services, Inc. in Joliet, Illinois is a not-for-profit social service agency that help people with disabilities to live and work in the community. The agency has been around since 1969 and over the years has greatly expanded the type of services they provide.
Can you cast a vote today, and tomorrow, and the rest of May?

Yep, Cornerstone Services is competing for $250,000 from Pepsi.
If you haven't heard about this, here's the deal: Pepsi is giving away all the money they usually spend on Super Bowl ads to projects that benefit communities. People vote on a new list of projects each month. This month, Cornerstone needs your vote. It's really easy to sign up. and you don't get spam (at least I haven't yet.)
Cornerstone operates a very successful community housing program for adults with mental illness. All people who qualify for the program must be homeless at the time of entry. Cornerstone helps them rent an apartment from a local landlord, provides counseling and medication management services, and offers the kind of support many of them have done without all their lives.
Many of the people who receive services are mothers with children. Some have life-threatening illnesses, like HIV. Sometimes the mothers have been separated from their children during the period of homelessness, other times they are all living on the streets or in a car. Once the family moves into an apartment, amazing things begin to happen. Many success stories have come from the program over the years.
While the agency receives funding from HUD and other state-based agencies, there has never been available funding to provide services to the children who live in the homes with the parents enrolled in the program. They often need counseling as much as their parents (especially when the parent has HIV or another serious illness.) Many of them ave the opportunity to participate in school sports or go on field trips for the first time, but the family has no money in the budget to pay for this. Bus passes, bicycles, eyeglasses, physician co-pays--there are so many things these kids need that will make a huge difference in their lives.
To help parents meet these expenses, Cornerstone is establishing the Bright Future Fund. The money in the fund will only be used for children at Cornerstone.
Please help Cornerstone establish the Bright Future Fund by giving them your vote. That's all they need! Competition for this prize money is fierce and your help is greatly needed!
Please vote today, and tomorrow, and next week . . . until May 31.
