Hyperbole? No. Hair absorbs oil.
Women of a certain age will know this, if they think about it for a minute. Remember hot oil treatments? Remember how fast your sun-damaged hair soaked up that VO-5 tube of hair oil?
This is going to be short and sweet, folks.
My morning email check invariably includes a dog breed listserv digest. One of the members posted to the list a fabulous video link, Hair soaks up oil spills. Please follow that link, and watch the video.
At the end of the vid, there's a link to the organization's website,matteroftrust.org. They have a section that tells you how to send your hair clippings for the construction of oil-absorbing mats and booms.
Next time you go to your hairdresser or barber for a whole new 'do, next time you groom your dog or cat, the next time your best friend saves you $35 by trimming your ends, sweep up that cut hair into a bag and mail it to them. And the next time you ladies pop a run in your nylons, send them off too -- after all, they use the nylons to encase the hair in booms.
The organization will soon put the address for shipments on their website. The current address is for regular mail only. Bookmark them, please.
My husband wants me to trim his hair today. My dog just got a big brushing session, and the cats are next. All that hair is going to Matter of Trust. Won't you send them your cut-off, brushed out hair, too?
