The Kos community attacked me with venom and hate when I posted the fundamental fact that illegal immigration is...well...illegal.
If someone comes to this country illegally they are breaking the law. If an employer hires an illegal alien they are breaking the law. It’s that simple. I believe in a nation of laws. I believe in fair enforcement of laws. I do not believe enforcing some some laws but not other laws is a fair or logical position to take.
When Bush wire-tapped without legal justification I was opposed to that as well. Either we are a nation of laws or not.
The recent polling data shows that a majority of Americans agree with me. It also shows that some 47% of DEMOCRATS agree with me that the Arizona law is about right or didn’t go far enough. I do not believe I am a racist and I will not run from the cowards on this website who label me racist simply because I wish to live in a nation of laws. I believe and I hope there are others on this website who agree with me. I invite you to join me in supporting the concept of law enforement. If you believe that our borders are indeed sovereign and you do not appreciate being labeled a racist simply because you respect our laws...I invite you rec this post.

"As you may know, the state of Arizona recently passed a law that gives the police the power to question anyone they suspect is in the country illegally, requires people to produce documents verifying their status if asked, and allows officers to detain anyone who cannot do so. Do you think this law goes too far in dealing with the issue of illegal immigration, doesn't go far enough, or is it about right?"

I am also posting this result to underline the implied fact that cutting off illegal immigration is basically a populist position. More jobs for more Americans. If an American company cannot survive without paying a decent union wage to a worker then that company should go out of business. American jobs for American workers...since when did that become a racist sentiment?

Do you think ILLEGAL immigrants do more to strengthen the U.S. economy because they provide low-cost labor and they spend money, or do ILLEGAL immigrants do more to weaken the U.S. economy because they don't all pay taxes but use public services?"
