Penis Scan Leads to Violence

Meet Rolando Negrin. He works for the TSA. But probably not for much longer. You've heard for a while about those backscatter airport security scanners that can see through your clothes.
Negrin has been arrested for aggravated battery for attacking a colleague after coworkers poked fun at the size of his penis during a body-scanning machine training session.
It seems to me that this story- which seem to be all about giving newscasters a way to laugh about small penises- is missing the real picture.
The real issues are
- These scanners are supposed to protect modesty by blurring out everyones private area. Obviously that has been a big fat lie. Makes me feel just great about the fact I went through one of these scanners the last time I flew out of National! Never again.
- An obvious case of sexual harassment among federal employees. The fact that this time it was male on male abuse does not make it acceptable.
How do we get the media to focus on the real issues of this story and not just focus like Bevis and Butthead on "he said penis, hu hu hu."?
