Rand Paul couldn't stand the heat. Now he says that he's for the Civil Rights Act in its entirety.
What a difference 24 hours makes. Last night on the Rachel Maddow Show, Rand Paul said that he did not think that the government had any business poking its nose into private businesses and whether they discriminated against potential customers based on race, etc. He even drew an analogy between Negroes and guns. If a restaurant or tavern owner could not turn away Negroes, how could they turn away would-be patrons packing heat?
Well, now Paul sez that it was a "poor political decision" to go on Maddow's show and that he supported both the ban on public discrimination and the ban on private discrimination.
