The one thing you could say about Rahm, is when he's wrong he can be very wrong, but when he's right, he's very right. This is one of the latter circumstances.
Bashing against Joe Barton's comments, Rahm states that President Obama's going to make the choice clear to voters on the GOP's philosophy by reminding them of what voters would be putting back into power.
Rahm on Joe Barton and BP Apology
Ignore trying to get Barton kicked off the committee or trying to get voted out in his rather safe district. That's a side show. The simple fact is that Joe Barton revealed the key difference in philosophy between republicans and democrats.
"That's not a political gaffe, those are prepared remarks. That is a philosophy. That is an approach to what they see. They see the aggrieved party here as BP, not the fishermen," Emanuel said on ABC's "This Week."
Barton and Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul, who recently called Obama's criticism of BP "un-American," are a reflection of the Republican party's governing philosophy, Emanuel said. "They think that the government's the problem."
The difference is rather obvious. Do you want apologies to BP and Goldman Sachs? Do you want that type of philosophy governing our country. There is a heated debate here about whether democrats are doing enough and whether enough change has occurred. That's a debate to have and it should be a good one. But here's the central conflict we're going to have in November. Some change or none at all. It's that simple. Republicans get in power and everything will be stuck for 2 years. Those who are mad please tell me how that's a good thing.
Politico confirms that Obama's going to keep the heat on Barton as well as he should. Obama will keep heat on Barton Comments
These comments are so dangerous that look at the reaction from Sarah Palin. She's lashing out in anger. A bit defensive much Sarah?
RahmEmanuel= as shallow/narrowminded/political/irresponsible as they come,to falsely claim Barton's BP comment is "GOP philosophy"Rahm,u lie
Let's focus on the bigger picture in November. We could continue our struggles against one another LATER. Until November, I propose we have a truce and focus on those who would apologize to BP and Goldman Sachs. Those are the ones who REALLY need to be punished.
