Obama, Democrats seize on Boehner 'ant' comment
Mike Memoli, LATimesblogs -- June 30, 2010
He [John Boehner, Senator GOP Leader] said a financial reform proposal Democrats are pushing is an overreaction to the economic crisis, equating it with "killing an ant with a nuclear weapon."
Turn to hyperbole, much Boehner?
This seems an all too common tactic of the GOP lately, when you got nothing, make something up!
Anything to divert attention away from yourself, and onto your opponents. No matter if there's a kernel of truth to those diversion statements or not -- just make it shocking and memorable as possible, seems to be the name of their game.
OK, since making Outrageous Statements is apparently the key to governing well -- how about directing a few of them back at the Party of BP?
OK, I'll start ...
Trusting Republicans to actually work for the People, is like:
Is like trusting BP, to Drill Safely!
Is like trusting Wall Street, to refinance your Mortgage!
Trusting Republicans to actually defend the People's interests, is like:
Is like trusting Joe Barton, to get to the Bottom of the Mess in the Gulf!
Is like trusting Sarah Palin, to finish somethings she's started!
Trusting Republicans to tell you the Truth, is like:
Is like trusting Dick Cheney, to make Big Oil invest in safety equipment!
Is like trusting Rush Limbaugh, to root for America to succeed!
Trusting Republicans NOT to filibuster everything, is like:
Is like trusting the GOP, to help the Unemployed!
Is like trusting the GOP, to care about anything besides War and Money!
Is like trusting the GOP, care about People needs, more than Corporate needs!
Please submit your own outrageous "bad analogies" of what it's like to "Trust the GOP with the 'Car Keys' again", in the comments below.
Thanks!
