New Gallup Poll
I think it's finally time to panic - its finally time to say to all those gloom and doomers around here (maybe about 95% of us?) that it is indeed time to panic.
Gallup released its weekly tracking poll of teh Generic Congressional Ballot today (like every other monday) - and what has caused me to panic?

Democrats Jump Into Six-Point Lead on Generic Ballot
Oh No ! What will the naysayers say ? ( should i mention "upstate democrat" here?)
SO where did this change come from?
Movement Seen Among Independents
With Republicans' and Democrats' support for their own party's candidates holding steady in the low 90s this past week, independents are primarily responsible for Democrats' improved positioning. Thirty-nine percent of independents favor the Democratic candidate in their district, up from 34% -- although slightly more, 43%, still favor the Republican.
That is an improvement from the 48-34 or 47-29 spread that caused ALL of the MSM last week or the week before to go into collective "Dems are Doomed" mode .. and of course us Kossacks like the bloody sheep that we are, always ready for some good old Obama Geithner Rahm bashing jumped right in and proclaimed gloom and doom everywhere !
What does gallup offer as a reason - maybe this?
In the same week the U.S. Senate passed a major financial reform bill touted as reining in Wall Street, Democrats pulled ahead of Republicans, 49% to 43%, in voters' generic ballot preferences for the 2010 congressional elections
In other words no gloom and doom !
And what should the MSM lead this story with? Gallup provides them the answer !
The 51% of Republicans saying they are "very enthusiastic" about voting this fall is up from 40% the week prior, and is the highest since early April -- shortly after passage of healthcare reform. Democratic enthusiasm is unchanged, at 28%.
But as Tom Jensen would say an enthusiastic vote is the same as a hold your nose vote ... just vote !
