Meet Katrina Swett. That’s her on the right. Why are we talking about her?
Well, the Democratic primary for New Hampshire’s open congressional seat is just 4 days away, and it’s neck-and-neck.
(UPDATE: Thanks for putting this on the most recced list -- please keep the recs coming so others can see!)
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee has endorsed bold progressive candidate Ann McLane Kuster, who is running against Joe Lieberman’s presidential co-chair Katrina Swett. Kuster and Swett met in a big debate Wednesday night, and Swett attacked Kuster for being the "very progressive candidate," saying, "The country is moving away from the more left, progressive point of view."
Seriously? Attacking a Democrat for being progressive in a Democratic primary? Swett’s attack is all you need to know about the type of Blue Dog she’ll be in Congress.
The primary's in 4 days. Can you donate $3 to Ann Kuster’s campaign so she can get her message to voters and defeat Swett in 4 days? Click here to donate.
Ann Kuster is the real deal. She supports a public option, supports cracking down on Wall Street, opposes the Bush tax cuts for millionaires, opposed the Iraq War from the start and wants out of Afghanistan, and opposes cutting Social Security.
Katrina Swett’s a Blue Dog through and through. She supported the Iraq War, supported the Bush tax cuts for millionaires, led a DC lobbying firm that worked for Wall Street, and said Joe Lieberman was the Democrat for President who "can win." Sound familiar?
This election’s just 4 days away and it’s neck and neck — please donate $3 to Ann’s campaign right now so she can get her message to voters and win.
We’ve had enough of Blue Dogs selling out to big corporations while telling voters that’s what it takes to "win." Kuster is the stronger candidate – she’s got thousands of grassroots supporters in New Hampshire, she’s running neck and neck in the polls, and she’s not afraid to take bold stands. She'd be a great ally in Congress.
When bold progressive candidates stand up, bold progressives in the grassroots need to stand with them. Let's do it.
