Ladies and Gentlemen, Karl Rove:
The Christine O'Donnell/Karl Rove dustup has demonstrated an amazing phenomenon taking place on the Right. And it's one worth watching in greater detail.
The people on the Right who were responsible for the 2006 and 2008 disasters are being supplanted by newer, more extreme personages. Karl "The Architect" Rove--who gave the extreme right eight years of White House control (with a little help from 5 friends)--has been smacked down by a party that no longer respects his leadership, based on one disparaging interview about one...well, let's be frank, nutjob candidate whose nomination cost the GOP a sure thing.
And what was the result of this smackdown?
The man who used to pride himself on knowing what would happen in every race before it happened is now cheerleading for the candidate who turned a 95% probability of winning a seat to a 95% probability of Senator Coons taking office this November.
So the GOP took its star quarterback and stuck him on the sidelines, and in his place subbed in someone with a record of some interesting trick plays in scrimmages but no real wins on the board. And while we can now watch the displaced play-caller pick up his pompoms, we're left to wonder:
What does the Beiest have up her sleeve?
