Is this the last straw for Alaskans?.
The Koch Brothers astroturf Tea Party Express are going to have their work cut out defending Joe Miller for this little bit of hypocrisy.
Even as Joe has been calling unemployment benefits unconstitutional, he has done so in the full knowledge that his wife claimed them, after she left his employ.
I'll try to lay it all out for you, so go and grab some popcorn and follow over the fold...........
First a little rundown of Joe's bad week, courtesy of Progressive Alaska
http://progressivealaska.blogspot.co...
For the second time, he is blaming obnoxious tweets on a campaign volunteer. Which is worse, if Miller actually did the cocky tweeting himself, or if after the first Twitter fiasco he again entrusted his Twitter account to a volunteer?
The ethical questions begging to be answered from what has to be an intentional non-filing of his personal finance disclosure in April, his fudging the line or blatant breaking of the law in the hunting permit and house financing issues, are ethical problems of the highest order when it comes to candidates seeking office at the state level.
Today this story is hitting the Alaskan Press and blogs

U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller confirmed Monday night that his wife -- once hired to work as a part-time clerk for the same Alaska court in which he was serving as a U.S. magistrate judge -- went on unemployment after she left the job.
Miller is running on a self-described constitutional conservative platform, arguing that the nation must return to the principles and powers penned by the founding fathers to save it from bankruptcy. Putting an end to entitlements on a national level and empowering states has been a key message in his campaign.
Miller held the magistrate position for the District Court out of Fairbanks from June 21, 2002 through June 1, 2004, earning a total of $71,418. Kathleen Miller worked as a part-time clerk for him from June 2002 to December 2002, according to a resume she submitted to the state last year when she pursued an appointment to the Alaska Judicial Council.
After she left her clerk job, she briefly went on state unemployment, Miller acknowledged in a statement:
OH NO! Say it Ain't So, Joe!
Some comments about the story in the Anchorage Daily News
Once more, another example of Joe Miller being a H Y P O C R I T E
Double-Talk.
Triple-Talk.
Quadruple-Talk.
Quintuple-Talk.
It all adds up to Miller-Talk.
But what really amazes me is that it appears his wife is an even bigger scam artist than he is. Unconstitutional unemployment is bad enough when you're married to Multi-Directional-Talking-Joe, but the 1996 indigent hunting license - you know, the second one, well after Joe took that 70K job - Holy Mother of God!
If anyone has an entitlement mentality, it's the Millers
.
Wow, wow, wow. Crazy Joe says the government's going to go bankrupt if we don't end the welfare state. If he believes that then he must want the government to go bankrupt - his household has taken more types of direct government assistance than anyone I have ever MET in my Alaskan life. I cannot wait to see why any Joe follower says his taking unemployment is ok.
Oh and we still don't have his financial disclosure - how many months late?? What in the world is it going to tell us next... Sorry this is just too much fun.

UPDATE
thanks for all the tips and recc's.
Also, thanks to Hesiod in the comments for this

"Miller signed on to represent a group trying to thwart a legislative investigation into whether Palin -- who had just rocketed onto the national stage as the GOP's pick for vice president -- abused the power of her office when she fired the state's top cop. Palin and Miller's paths would collide again two years later when the former governor endorsed Miller's run for Senate, drawing national attention to his campaign.
[...]
Miller's jump into the Troopergate fray came on Sept. 16, 2008, when he filed suit in Fairbanks to stop an investigation already set in motion by the state's Legislative Council. Miller sued on behalf of five Alaskans from the Fairbanks and North Pole communities who wished to "secure their rights as taxpayers and citizens of the State of Alaska to be free from unauthorized, wasteful, and unlawful government spending," according to the opening sentence of Miller's complaint.
The investigation into Troopergate was looking into allegations that Palin wrongfully removed Commissioner of Public Safety Walt Monegan from office because he refused to end the career of her sister's ex-husband, Mike Wooten. Wooten was (and is) an Alaska State Trooper with a bitterly strained relationship with the Palin family. There were claims Wooten tried to threaten and intimidate the Palins, and Miller and others were baffled as to why the man continued to be employed in Palin's hometown."
BIG UPDATE
Seems Joe Miller has lost the Palins.
http://www.themudflats.net/...
It has long been speculated that former Alaska governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin would mount a bid for the White House in 2012. So far, Palin has avoided directly answering questions about her intent. However, internal emails obtained by The Mudflats provide the most conclusive evidence to date that Palin will be running for president, and also indicate a behind-the-scenes rift between the Palins and an Alaskan candidate that they have both publicly endorsed.
An irate email written by Todd Palin seems to confirm his wife’s presidential ambition, and revealed his anger at Alaska Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller. The email demands that the treasurer of SarahPAC, Tim Crawford, "hold off on any letter of support for Joe," and came on the heels of an interview Miller gave to Neil Cavuto on Fox News Sunday.
Love, love, love Joe Millers response to Todd Palins email........
Miller reacted three days later when he forwarded the email he’d received from Todd Palin, and added a message of his own. Miller’s email was sent to his spokesman Randy DeSoto, campaign manager Robert Campbell, political advisor Walter Campbell, and a staffer. Miller stated that he had just found the email from Palin in his inbox, and noted, "This is what we’re dealing with. Note the date and the complete misconstruction of what I said. Holy cow."
My bolding.

Don't go there unless you want to give a vile person the click
"This is the worst sort of betrayal I’ve ever seen," one source close to Sarah Palin said in describing the leak of an e-mail that Todd Palin sent to Joe Miller, the Alaska GOP Senate candidate.
The source noted that some of Miller’s campaign staff have connections to 2008 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, and suggested that these staffers have been advising Miller to distance himself from Palin.
But Miller’s staff has been "f–ing up everything" in recent weeks, said my source, pointing to a number of tactical and strategic blunders by the Republican campaign for which the Huckabee-connected staffers are believed to be responsible.
This blog reluctantly confirms the veracity of Todd Palin's email.
There is a great alternative for all Alaskans
