News reports about statements made by an Israeli MK urging that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad be assassinated by the IDF have been published by Turkish newspapers today.
Turkish newspapers are reporting that Aryeh Eldad (MK from the extreme right opposition National Union alliance) is urging that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad be assassinated by Israeli soldiers tomorrow when he visits the Israel-Lebanon border.
He is reported to have said that if in 1939 a Jewish soldier could have killed Hitler the history of humanity would have been different.
MK Eldad is reported to have also said that when President Ahmadinejad comes to the border to throw rocks at Israel, if he comes into the firing range of IDF forces it would not be acceptable for Ahmadinejad to return to his country alive.
The Turkish news reports also state that Ahmadinejad will not throw rocks at Israel when he visits the border area tomorrow and that reports that he would do so which had appeared in Arab news reports were unfounded.
The reports go on to state that Ahmadinejad will be visiting Lebanese villages near the border which were heavily bombed by Israel in 2006 but it was unclear how near he would be going to the border.
