I opened the morning mail. We had two identical letters from Kelly Paul, Rand Paul's wife. The letters were asking us to vote for her husband.
The interesting part of the letter is that she brags about her relatives killing Native Americans and her family getting started here in Kentucky from a Federal government handout.
Details below:
On the first of her 4-page letter, Kelly Paul brags:
"Most Kentucky native know that the Blue Grass State has been home to the Ashley's for generations.
You see, my ancestor, John Ashley, fought Indians with Daniel Boone."
That is right, she brags about her relative killing native Americans so her and other European immigrant families could have their land.
And exactly how did the Ashley family obtain their land?
"John and his brother, Stephen Ashley were captains in the Revolutionary War and were given land in Kentucky by the new United States government as payment for their services."
That is right. They got there start as a political kickback from the Federal government. The very government that Paul rails against in his speeches for giving people handouts.
I guess, that over the years the Ashley family position on immigrants and help from the Federal government has changed.
