You know, if only there was something like...I dunno...a Justice Department or something?
Next election cycle, among the reforms we should advocate is a department of the government dedicated towards enforcing federal laws against voter intimidation, the right to peacefully assemble and express their opinion. I mean, its not like prosecutors don't regularly find a law to fit the crime when they really want to go after someone, and I think a department that was specifically dedicated towards enforcing existing federal laws might be useful.
In fact, we could even enforce violations of the military code of justice against people who used torture against both national and international standard.
This might be a useful counter action against the witch hunts that Issa is going to be starting soon.
What really surprises me is that no one has ever thought of this before. I mean, 200 years of history and we don't have ANYONE in the entire executive branch that can't make the henchmen of these politicians or these private companies or these militia groups take action?
Wow. We really have been asleep at the switch.
