As noted on the Dkosopedia Framing page, "One of the most important functions of DailyKos is to help the liberal Democratic community reach consensus on political goals and how to effectively motivate the public. The way we frame arguments for our positions is one of the most important factors in effectively communicating these goals and motivating the public to support them." With DK4 (in beta) it will be much easier to build and pass around the frames that form the foundation of progressive political thinking.
If you haven't already, please go to Practical Frames and check out the frames that already exist for such topics as:
and many others.
I'm currently working on an update to the Social Security frame because The Bandits will use the next session of Congress to attack it. Social Security is one of the most successful examples of collective bargaining using the government to push back against the illegitimate economic power of big corporations. Without it, companies would be able to exploit workers by simply not paying them enough to retire. Before Social Security, retirement meant either death or abject poverty for millions of Americans. The Bandits and their Republican lackeys would like to take us back to that time.
Use your imagination to build a new conceptual framework for this generation of progressives. If you can state your case in simple language compelling to voters, write it up as a frame for Forward Framing!
(You will be able to join the Framing group on the new Daily Kos to contribute frames, but you can add frames to the Dkosopedia wiki right now by setting up an account and following the simple instructions there.)
