then you don't have a plan!
I have been trying to figure out how to say this for almost two years. . .
No matter how brilliant your idea is or how noble you goal, if you can't get it through both houses of the Congress and signed by a President, it really doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter how loud you yell, or how stiffly you hold your spine.
So can we please, please, please stop pretending that stuff that was never going to happen might have happened if the President was "tougher" or "louder" or more "like you".
It simply isn't true.
The thing that frustrates me the most about Daily Kos is the amount of energy that is wasted discussing the impossible, while we completely ignore the possible.
President Obama passed what was possible, not what he actually wanted.
I know many here are scarred from the DLC/Blue Dog battles, and I too get extremely frustrated with the shameless corporate butt kissing that goes on.
But seriously, can we not exert some energy on what we can realistically do to move the progressive agenda forward instead of having daily discussions about the President's temperment?
The President is pretty much what he is going to be at this point, love it or hate it. Long after he is gone, we will still have many of the same problems.
How about we work with his strengths and use our collective voice to make a difference . . . like the Sanity Rally and the Save Keith petition?
We are so much better when we are united and dealing with reality, not our progressive fantasies.
