A letter that can be interchanged with the name of your local, state, or federal democratic representative.
Dear ______,
I am writing to you today as a concerned citizen of this great nation and has a democrat. Over the past year, it has become increasingly apparent to me that our party has no effective leadership, and no longer serves the interests of it's voting members.
We are a political party that thrives on the differences of it's members. We embody the very essence of compromise. For it is our open-mindedness that allows us to advance this nation, as we have for the past 80 years. We understand that America isn't great because of want we do, but rather is great because of the ideals that we strive to live up too. I feel our leadership has compromised those ideals for the sake of a political end. Compromising not on policy, but on the idea of America.
I believe in America. I believe in our power to lift people up from poverty through opportunity. I believe the statement "All Men are Created Equal" is not just about equality, but also fairness in shouldering the burden of this nation. And I believe that when we compromise these ideals, we compromise the very soul of this nation.
Sir/Madam, what our party and this country needs now, more then ever, is leadership. We are so devoid of it that our opposition, whose stated goal has been to do nothing, appear to be more competent leaders in the eyes of the public then us. The compromising of our long-held ideals shows the public that we care less about our country, and more about who saves the most face in a political fight.
Standing up for one's ideals is only politically risky to those who care more about their political careers then they care about the soul of America. Compromise is part of who we are, but it is not all we are.
Thank you and good day.
Sincerely,
