A developing story:
A federal official says two packages exploded Thursday at state government buildings in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, according to NBC News.
Both were apparently sent through the mail, an official says. In both cases, the packages emitted a small bang or flame. The official says so far it appears no one was hurt in either incident. But ABC2News.com reported that several people had been injured.

A lot of unconfirmed reports flying around so its hard to know what is going on at the present time.
I am hoping that the abc reports are not true and that noone is injured.
This photo is of emergency officials responding to the incident.
One package was sent to the Jeffrey Building in downtown Annapolis. The other was sent to the Maryland Department of Transportation in Hanover.

This is a developing story.
Will add more as more information comes in.
Update 1:
According to msnbc, an official said that 2 people, one a mailroom employee have suffered minor injuries.
Update 2:
According to wbaltv:
Sky Team 11 Capt. Roy Taylor reported that at the MDOT building, most workers were allowed to leave except for those on the fourth floor, which is where the package was opened.
Taylor said seven people were injured, and one person requested to be taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He said the explosion wasn't considered serious enough to cause bodily injury and that hazmat crews were trying to figure out what the substance in the package was.
Meanwhile, state agencies have been advised to not deliver or open any mail.

Update 3:
A law enforcement source tells CBS News the package in Annapolis was addressed to Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley at the governor's mansion, but was taken to the state offices.
The packages created smoke and an odor when they were opened, and CBS reports one flamed up while the other fizzled. Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley says the packages were small, describing them as about the size of a book.

I will add here that I am not going to get into speculating who was behind this. That is for the investigators to decide.
