I really hope Tom Brady enjoyed:
-- Showing the football to the Steelers fans and spiking it
-- Running up the score against the Jets, Dolphins, Bears, etc.
-- His lovely Audi and also haircut
-- The feeling of invincibility
-- His effin' genius of a head coach
-- His sparkly MVP award
It's all over, Tom! Do you hear that creaking sound? It's the championship window closing!
The press did it again - they awarded the Patriots their Super Bowl rings before the playoffs even started. Everyone believed it. I think Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were starting to believe it. New England fans had started talking about how it was so great that the Steelers and Ravens would beat each other up this week so the winner would hobble into Shaving Products Stadium and be easy prey next week. Everyone forgot that the Jets would still play a football game this weekend.
But hand it to the Jets. They got under Brady's skin all week long, and then they came out not intimidated at all. Brady was throwing it to phantoms who weren't there (when he wasn't reacquainting himself with the turf).
Little known fact! ---- The Patriots have a punter. I think he was No. 14. I'm not sure I had ever seen him before.
Now we've got Packers at Bears, and Jets at Steelers. Man, what an entertaining week it's going to be next week, and a surefire great matchup for the Super Bowl, no matter what happens from here on out.
And the best thing of all? We don't have to hear anymore about how the Patriots are the greatest team ever assembled, Bill Belichick is an unbelievable genius, Tom Brady can never lose a game at home, blah blah blah. My heart bleeds purple piss for all of them.
Pardon my French, and have a good night.
