(Bumping this one last time. During the transition, everyone is welcome to hang out at Congress Matters. Daily Kos log-ins and passwords work there. Rumor has it that a special Saturday night edition of Markos' hate mail will be posted this evening on the new site. See you all on the other side! Susan)
This Saturday, we'll be moving to the new Daily Kos site. The current site will be turned off at approximately 9:00 a.m. (Pacific) so that all data can be moved to the new servers. The plan is to bring the new site fully up at some point Saturday afternoon or evening: by Sunday we expect to be fully functional and posting as usual, but with our brand new look and features.
You won't need to do a thing to use the new site: your account, your past diaries, past comments and other information will all remain the same.
A special thanks to all the betatesters who have ferreted out bugs, suggested interface improvements, and in general have done yeoman's work to ensure that the launch will go as smoothly as possible.
Update by kos: Note -- Congress Matters will be also be down for a short period of time, as we transfer it to our brand-spanking new servers. That outage, however, should only last for about an hour.
Update II by kos: Nevermind the above. Congress Matters will be moved eventually, but not today.
Update III by kos: One final update in DK3 -- wishing the developers godspeed as they pull the plug and start the big move.
