Dear community, a week ago today at this time, I was in post-op recovery having just been relieved of my gallbladder. Your kindness made the operation possible and I am very grateful for your gifts and healing thoughts.
It was a big stone (2cm or more) and my gallbladder had adhered to the tissues around it. If you are curious and not grossed out about such things, you can see pictures of it here.
Now, a week later, I am moving around pretty well and finally able to sleep on my side again. I will have restrictions on what I can do for five more weeks, just so I don’t get a hernia, but after that I should be good to go. Already, I am cautiously eating things, being careful about fats, but have had absolutely no problems so far.
I’d say the pain I feel right now, a bruised feeling inside where the gallbladder was, is not worse than what I was experiencing before the surgery. And I am getting better every day.
Thank you again! The gift of health is no small thing. You have given it to me and I will never forget.
