A few days ago, CNN's Nic Robertson blasted Fox News for deceit and hypocrisy about the way it was and was not covering events in Tripoli.
The money quote was how Fox's correspondent in Tripoli spent most of his time cowering in the hotel:
I see him more times at breakfast than I see him out on trips with government officials here," Robertson said. "We very, very rarely see the Fox News team out on the trips."
So, you would think that with as much time as the Fox guys spent in their hotel, they would have gotten the story about the desperate Libyan woman who actually came to the hotel and begged reporters to tell the world what Ghadafy's thugs had done to her.
The sobbing and bruised woman, who was eventually dragged away by Libyan thugs, told of being beaten, repeatedly raped, urinated and defecated upon.
Some of the reporters trying to interview and film the woman were pushed around and had their equipment seized.
MSNBC did a story.
"They swore at me and they filmed me. I was alone. There was whiskey," she said, weeping and stretching out her arms to show scars.
"They defecated and urinated on me and tied me up," she said, "They violated my honor, look at what the Gadhafi militiamen did to me."
Obaidi, who appeared to be in her 30s and was wearing a loose black coat and slippers, said she had been raped by 15 men and held for two days.
So did The New York Times.
The Wall Street Journal included it in a general story about Libya.
Even the Rupert Murdock-owned Sky News reported it.
So you would think that Fox News would have reported on this story that literally fell into their laps.
Nope. As of noon Saturday, there is nothing about it on their website.
The Fox team must have been having lunch in a different part of the hotel.
