This is going to be a damn short diary. I almost did it as a comment in the open thread, but I'd like to see this diary used as a "laboratory" for coming up with short, succinct summations of the catastrophe that is the GOP economic plan.
The rest, such as it is, over the jump. But take a look at what I'm referring to:
Photo cribbed from Mother Jones article by Kevin Drum. The article itself is two sentences and the photo. We don't usually crib wholesale, but I'll give you Drum's entire article.
This is from the LA Times this morning. ... Kudos to the Times copy desk for writing an unusually clear and accurate headline.
I don't think Kevin will mind. If he does, someone give a shout and I'll edit.
This is how you do it. Edited a bit more, even, here's the Times:
GOP recovery plan guts health care to poor, gives tax cuts to wealthy
That's it. That sums it up. The wealthy get tax breaks paid for by increasing the burden of misery and suffering and death on poor Americans.
You could even tweet it:

with 48 characters left over. (Sorry, Kos formatting truncates the URL. You'll have to copy the link with your mouse.)
What I'd like to see in the rest of this diary is some more suggestions on how to succinctly, and accurately, sum up this hateful train wreck of a GOP economic plan. I won't discourage having some vicious fun at their expense, but we really need some strong, elegantly phrased messaging that we can use as a hard, sharp hammerblow to the virtual heads of the GOP oligarchs.
I've really become (reluctantly) a believer in short and succinct messaging. Yes, it gives in to our current paradigm of the world as some fast-moving, sensory-overloaded ADD stimulus junkies, but if you think longwinded Proustian explanations of why the GOP wants to kill us all to enrich themselves and their donors will work, you're wrong, I'm afraid.
Let's see some suggestions. Then let's get them out into the larger discussion.
