This might explain why so many Neocons and BushPals™ have been on the TV recently, whining about the unfairness of investigating the interrogators.
From The Arizona Daily Star:
Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee expect to release findings this summer from an 18-month investigation into the CIA's interrogation of terrorism suspects, a review that could provide some clarity on whether harsh techniques - or even torture - played a role in helping the CIA find Osama bin Laden.

Better yet, it turns out the US Justice Department has also been investigating torture for the past 18 months. That's right - AG Eric Holder, the man who so many Progressives have lambasted and excoriated for not looking back at war crimes by the Bush Administration, has been quietly doing just that.
From Raw Story, today:
The Justice Department has been investigating CIA interrogators for alleged abuse of detainees under the Bush administration since 2009. Attorney General Eric Holder said there was enough evidence of abuse to warrant an investigation into whether federal law had been violated, adding it was "the only responsible course of action for me to take."

It seems like Bushco's first strategy was to whine that their crimes led to Bin Laden's hideout, so they really should be celebrated, not prosecuted. When that failed spectacularly, with John McCain, AP and others disproving that false meme, they moved to plan B: Hit the airwaves as much as possible and say how wrong it is to investigate the interrogators.
Hilariously, GOP Senator Mark Kirk cried today:
"These Americans did their jobs at the direction of the President of the United States and this politically motivated investigation will have a chilling effect on the work of their colleagues and other national security professionals in the U.S. Government."
Nice job, genius - you just implicated your BFF George W. Bush in a War Crime. And the results from examining more than 5 million emails, cables and other documents are to be released in a matter of weeks.
