I'm your VJ/DJ, Justice Putnam; and I'll be manning the dials, spinning the discs, warbling the woofers, putting a slip in your hip and a trip to your hop.
Sit back, roam the Big Orange and have a listen to...

"People whose lives have been shaped
by history—and it is always tragic—
do not want to talk about it,
would rather dance, give parties
on thrift-shop china... "
"... You feel
wonderful in their homes,
two leaky rooms, nests
they stowed inside their hearts
on the road into exile.
They know how to fix potato peelings
and apple cores so you smack your lips.
The words start over again
hold no terror for them.
Obediently they rise
and go with only a rucksack
or tote bag. If they weep,
it’s when you’re not looking.
To tame their nightmares, they choose
the most dazzling occupations,
swallow the flames in the sunset sky,
jump through burning hoops
in their elegant tiger suits.
Cover your eyes: there’s one
walking on a thread
thirty feet above us—
shivering points of light
leap across her body,
and she works without a net."

Question: Who is your audience? What are you here for?
Answer: Tribal Alliances, Heart-felt Convictions, Passionate Reason, Random Abandon, Sustainable Civility and a kiss; to comfort the sad and the mad Ones; the Ones roaming the International section of the American Supermarket at night; or roaming the neglected streets looking for an angry malaprop to sink their teeth into; the Ones who seek without seeking and learn as much as they teach; the Ones who embrace and kiss and embrace again; the Ones who sing the song of the city and the ballads of the forest; the Ones who chant the rhythm of the sea and hum the melody of the desert; the Ones who sing the prayer of Her name and Her name is the World. Yes, those are the Ones.
Black Kos Music: Late Night in The Justice Department is a free form, eclectic music program and posts Sunday through Thursday nights at 8pm West Coast time; and at 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
(I've pledged the minimum $150 to help heat freezing folks in need on the Rosebud Reservation. Navajo has an important diary posted with all the particulars. Even a small amount can work towards building the minimum. Could you please help?)
