There's a story about a guy who worked in a Fortune 500 company. He made a mistake that cost the company a million dollars. He was called into the president's office. The man said, "I know you're going to fire me." The president said, "Are you kidding? We can't fire you! We just invested a million dollars in your education!"
Should Weiner stay on and earn the cost of his humiliation in accomplishments?
I didn't vote for Wiener, I don't live in his district, but I live in NYC and I'd vote for him for mayor. He's a great advocate for progressive politics and there are real issues at stake. He has been a voice for what truly matters.
Did he humiliate himself? Totally. I can't claim to know what it's like for a woman to receive pics of a guy's chest, or genitalia. I imagine it's a 10 on the ick scale, and perhaps reminiscent of a chronic annoyance at how dense men can be, but I don't imagine it was more than that; I don't imagine anyone was truly psychologically harmed here
...with the possible exception of his lovely wife. I feel sorry for her and she's pregnant. So he's the boob of the year, but that's really between them.
If his wife can forgive him, I certainly can.
