I live outside of Boston & was disheartened when Scott Brown won the senate race in 2009. The angry, bitchy people on talk radio had won.
Brown was clearly more charismatic than Martha Coakley, the competent but less than inspiring attorney general. And he had the wind at this back, so to speak. After all, he drove a truck (!) surely he represents everyman..
But this is a very blue state. Sure it's difficult to unseat an incumbent, but I'm certainly hoping someone with national stature shows up & makes a run for it. Helllooo!!! Elizabeth!!!
Dear Mrs. Warren,
Please excuse this method of contact.
I couldn't find your email address.
Surely you know you're being blocked from appointments by obstructionists in the senate. It's because they're bought off by the banks & financial svcs co's. (I'm sure you're too polite to say it that way.)
Massachusetts really needs someone bright and articulate and forceful for Senate, who calls a spade a spade. Nobody has yet come up to the plate & time is getting short.
We have Alan Kazei, who's claim to fame is having run a big charity/volunteer program - he's never had a real job in the private sector - I don't take him seriously - government is not a charity - he will lose badly.
Then there's the mayor of Newton. He's an unknown, and since name recognition is vital, that makes him a likely loser also.
Please RUN! I know being a technocrat has its appeal, but your expertise and ability to talk clearly about these things is sorely needed. Sure, you may have to vote on other stuff you are less expert in, but everyone there is a rookie their first year or two.
Some, like Rand Paul, refuse to do arithmetic & want to virtually burn the place down. That's his Utopia. We need to counterbalance his influence before it's too late. You'll stand out like a shining star!
If you get in the race, I'll give you $500. That's a lot of money for me. It's important for the Country! Please Consider.
