...simply amazing.
What did he do? In this diary, posted not too long ago, he questioned why thereisnospoon's "John Boehner will be just fine," written this morning as a counter analysis to my Rec. list diary from earlier today, had not been given the attention it properly deserved.
And suddenly, poof. Thereisnospoon's diary appeared on the Rec. List, and now stands near the top.
Why am I amazed? Two reasons:
1) It refreshingly represents the communal spirit of this site, wherein those who value the writing of others invest not only the time to read and contemplate said writing, but will often champion that writing, whether through glowing comments or recommendations. And every so often, as Seneca Doane did, by pointing out fantastic writing that slipped through the cracks.
2) It bespeaks the respect this community gives to both Seneca Doane and thereisnospoon, a respect that all of us (including myself) should aspire to attain. Well, I'll speak for myself – I hope to, in my writing, attain a level of respect that those two have so rightfully attained. Not for matters relating to the ego. No, for I too have important words to write, and hope, one day, to be viewed with the same regard as those two based upon my writing and contributions to this site. Not to feel important. In order to help further those causes I hold dear.
Now, one might ask: The Troubadour, why are you praising Seneca Doane's efforts? After all, the diary he promoted took yours to task.
My response? Precisely.
Carry on, Daily Kos. Carry on.
