Tonight John Boehner delivered the Republican ultimatum to America. An ultimatum that the G.O.P. would put the country at risk of default that promises to wreck any prospects for an economic recovery or let his Republican radicals have their way.

I’ve got news for Washington – those days are over.
I want you to know I made a sincere effort to work with the president to identify a path forward that would implement the principles of Cut, Cap, & Balance in a manner that could secure bipartisan support and be signed into law. I gave it my all.
Unfortunately, the president would not take yes for an answer. Even when we thought we might be close on an agreement, the president’s demands changed.
Boehner's disingenuous "Unfortunately, the president would not take yes for an answer." line sums up the GOP's arrogance and naked deceit. Cut, Cap, & Balance was only a yes to the Tea Party's radical demands for re-making the Federal Government inteo a Federal Government from the 19th century.
