The Republicans in the Senate have said that they would filibuster Elizabeth Warren as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureay.
In fact they said that they would filibuster anyone, unless Obama allowed them to castrate the organization, by replacing the executive with a committee and stripping it of its financial independence.
Still, when Obama announced that he was nominating Richard Cordray, former Iowa Ohio AG, this was a good choice.
As AG, he went after the banksters.
Of course, absent a recess appointment, something which Obama calls "Extraordinary", he will never get the chance to serve officially as head of the bureau.
One would hope that Obama would appoint him to replace Warren as the special adviser, but that's not happening.
Instead, Obama isappointing Raj Date as the adviser to the Treasury Secretary, so he will run the agency while the GOP filibusters.
And who is Raj Date?
Why he's a bankster, of course.
We see it on his bio at his think tank:
- Director in the Financial Institutions Group at Deutsche Bank Securities
- Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Development at Capital One Financial, where he led M&A development efforts across the U.S. banking and specialty finance markets
- began his business career in the financial institutions practice of the consulting firm McKinsey & Company
I am sick and tired of everyone in Washington, DC giving bankers rim jobs for fucking the rest of us.
