I'm heading for Washington this morning to attend two events.
Information about the events are below for those who can get there.
It's time to take it to the streets. It's time.
Today (Thursday, 7/28) 12 noon, Capitol Building
MoveOn's DC Progressives Council is taking it to the streets. I joined this list when I moved back to DC because I wanted to be alerted anytime there was a rally, since I'm on 1.5 miles from the Capitol. This is what I got in my box last night.
MoveOn "American Dream" event on Thursday, July 28th, at 12PM (east side)
The given address for the event is:
Don't Destroy the American Dream!
East side steps of Capitol Building
First Street NE (East side Capitol steps)
Washington, DC 20004
Other progressive organizations will also be participating.

House Democratic Leaders To Obama: Use The 14th Amendment
Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and a handful of other Democrats are holding a Thursday press conference to urge President Barack Obama to use the 14th Amendment as a back-up option.
Reps. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and John Garamendi (D-Calif.) and Del. Donna Christensen (D-Virgin Islands) are joining with Engel at 1 p.m. to call to Obama to "invoke the 14th Amendment in the absence of a bipartisan agreement agreement to raise the debt ceiling and avoid national default," according to their press release.
The group also picked a symbolic location to deliver their message: the corner of Constitution Ave and 14th St.
House Democratic leaders threw their support behind the constitutional approach earlier in the day. The White House later repeated its line that the option remains off the table.
