Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though.
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary ,visit the Guild web site, roll up a character on Garrosh and when you log in type

and contact (via in-game mail or /whisper) any of our members - who can direct you to someone with /ginvite privileges and get you a guild invite. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome.

Finally, we hear back from Prettydead:
Pretty’s Summer Vacation
I thought it might be fun to jot a small narrative of my last few weeks so folks might know why I’ve been so scarce ingame of late.
It all started with Netroots Nation in June. One of my wives (Dyingember) and I went, and got thoroughly energized. I’ll be dedicating my time and resources on a local issue of great import to me and mine: fighting to keep discrimination out of the Minnesota Constitution. We got to meet our very own Suluca, Kaels, as well as Mr Plow (Kipluci, et al), and Stormy. Much liberal-slanted fun was had. Thanks to Merkurite for giving her registration to Dyingember so she could attend. She got way more involved than I expected, and even registered on dKos (Emberlyn). We’re looking forward to NN12 in Providence. She’s never flown before, and neither of us has been to RI before. Tentative plans are to fly into NYC and get picked up by Suluca for a couple days of NYC tourism, followed by a goodly dose of liberal activism.
No sooner was NN11 done than I had to shift gears to final preparations for the festival I help put on. This was our first year, and also a new location.

Short version: I used to belong to another festival organization. We had an acrimonious split and ended up forming Summerland.
It was, in a word, epic. The opening weekend was (we thought) rather hot. Caution had to be taken to minimize heat injuries. Following the heat, we experienced a night of winds that approached 70 mph. two of our three shelters were damaged by the winds, and a couple of tents were lost. The rest of the week was actually fairly cool. I got to participate in a Vision Quest ritual that I found rather helpful. It helped me to find some answers. Granted, the answers were not to the questions that I originally came into the ritual with, but I think they were the answers I actually needed. I got to perform a reading of a poem that I really like:

I also got to do my comedy routine. It was updated a bit from last year and a bit better rehearsed. Unfortunately, no video is available this year.

I can be seen in this article as one of the drummers in the ‘Initiation by Earth’ section.
The week ended hot, again. I was the proud recipient of the Most Flooded Tent in our flash flood early Saturday morning. We had enough warning that we were able to put all our stuff up on our cots and had almost no water damage to our stuff. The tent proved a total loss, as several of the integral fiberglass poles cracked. One our festivants made the amusing observation that the tent most flooded was the one belonging to the dykes. I thought that was funny enough that I plan on using it.
Festival ended Sunday, 17 Jul 11. I return to work Monday morning, and find out that I am going to be sent immediately to south central Illinois for a week to support pilot plant trials at a partner-corporation’s facility. I had just enough time to unload my sodden camping gear and reload with science gear, prior to hitting the road. Illinois is flat, boring, hot, and stinky. Folks are nice, but I was really not in the mood to be away from home for a second consecutive week, and alone.
I finally logged in for the first time last night, just long enough to take care of my mail. I heard rumors of missed chances at AH piracy, er, Business Opportunities. I still haven’t gotten to actually play yet. Perhaps tonight. I will be resuming Thursday Night Raiding for us more casual types in another week. I’ll send out an ingame email, a forum post at the guild website, and a reminder here in the weekly diary to remind folks that it’s on.
Mahuae has the much more important work of finding a stray dog's people, so I'll put the Guild Vault Report in here when I get it.
