I know it’s been a while, and I promised, so here it is: the long-awaited Brooklyn DailyKos Meetup! Manhattanites, Long Islanders, New Jerseyans, Westchesterites, even Connecticutians, don’t be frightened of our beautiful borough! Come below the curlicue for more exciting news!
Yes, Brooklyn: the coolest place on the planet, if the T-shirts European teenagers are wearing this summer are any guide. And our gathering spot is one of the coolest places in Brooklyn: Bogota! Not the city, the Latin Bistro and Mojito Bar. I can attest personally that the food (mostly Colombian) is fabulous, the drinks are delicious and perfect for the weather, the atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the prices are reasonable, and the owners are extremely congenial, both personally and politically. In fact, you may have noticed a mention of them previously here at Daily Kos: these guys. So we have cause to celebrate and congratulate them, too.
Now I know this exotic locale must be making all you non-Brooklynites nervous, but let me assure you that the travel couldn’t be easier. Bogota is within four blocks of all the following subway lines: B,D,Q,N, R, 2, and 3. It’s also an easy walk from the B61, B63, B67, B69 and B41 buses, and just seven blocks from the LIRR Atlantic Terminal. And since it’s not Manhattan, you could even drive there!
All you Brooklynites who’ve been asking for this for ages, here it is! You know who you are, and I’m looking forward to seeing you, especially.
Here are the nuts-and-bolts:
