8:31 PM PT (David Jarman): About two-thirds of the vote is tallied, but it looks like we've got results, of a sort, in the gubernatorial primaries. On the GOP side, as expected, Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant was dominant, winning with 59%, with various tea party types taking up the rest (businessman Dave Dennis was second at 26%). On the Democratic side, it looks like we're set to do this all over again on Aug. 23 with a runoff, as nobody hit 50%. The two runner-offers will be Hattiesburg mayor Johnny DuPree (45%) and businessman Bill Luckett (39%).
