Dear God, please give me the strength to
squeeze blood from Texas's poorest turnips.
No? Oh well, whatevs! That's on you!

The pull quote of the day from Rick Perry's announcement speech:
“We’re dismayed at the injustice that nearly half of all Americans don’t even pay any income tax.”
This, coming from the Bold Leader of a state with ... no income tax.
Why no solution to this glaring "injustice" under Perry, Texas's longest serving governor (and in fact, the longest continuously serving current governor in the entire country).
Now, there are all sorts of reasons why this quote should be dismissed as hopelessly stupid, and there's no shortage of wonkery available to prove it. But I'm more interested in what questions arise from taking Perry at his word. Where's he been on "correcting" this great "injustice?"
You could parse it all day long, and there are a million things wrong with what he's saying. But bottom line for me is, what's he been doing? Where was the Day of Prayer to address this issue that's seemingly been beyond his meager skills for the last ten-plus years?
