One of the mysteries of posting on this “so called” progressive sight is the absolutely vitriolic responses to any and everything Obama does. His achievements are minimized and his failures are accentuated in the same fashion one sees on Foxnation.
Initially, I assumed it was just the “unrealistic” purists who are still pining for a king who could issue a decree and Gitmo would be closed for good. Then he could demand the public option while gnawing on a big ole turkey leg at court. Congress would bow when he enters the room and if the media says anything negative, they would be sent to the Towers.
Today, I thought I’d stand down on my fervent support of this president for just a moment to give my progressive cousins a chance to convince me I’m wrong. So I have a few questions I would really love you to answer:
1. Do you want Obama to get a primary challenger in 2012?
2. If so by whom?
3. Can "King Unnamed Progressive" win in this political environment?
4. If your “dream” candidate wins, how could they deliver a public option and other progressive legislation in this environment?
Folks, I’m starting to wonder about this site because I’ve been reading some crazy stuff of late. If I didn’t know better, I believe half of the folks who post here are really trying to elect Mitt Romney on their best days and Bachmann on their worst.
Hmmm, maybe they are.
