Via Las Vegas Review-Journal:
Three people were killed and six others were wounded in a shooting at a restaurant in the capital city on Tuesday morning, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
Two of the three dead were members of the Nevada Army National Guard and were in uniform.
Sheriff Kenny Furlong said the suspect fired at restaurant customers with an "automatic weapon" about 9 a.m. and then shot himself. He later died at a hospital.
He said there was just one shooter, a local man who had no criminal history.
Just horrible. They haven't released the name of the killer, nor the victims. To clarify, the gunman killed three people before turning the gun on himself.
Reno Gazette-Journal:
Five of the nine people shot at the Carson City IHOP this morning were Nevada National Guard members, spokeswoman April Conway said.
Two of the three people who died were guard members, Conway said. She would not speculate on a motive by the shooter.
They were in uniform. There's no way the shooter didn't know he was trying to kill members of the U.S. military.
