5:21 PM PT: Rick Perry's book comes up for the first time...in the form of a question to Newt Gingrich, who wrote the forward. Newt says it's silly to assume Perry believes anything he wrote in the book because Perry wasn't running for President when he wrote it.
5:21 PM PT: Gingrich rips Barack Obama a new one for not asking Herman Cain about how to create jobs. Of course, in Cain's words, his jobs plan is "9-9-9." And, by the way, why the hell is Newt Gingrich running for President if Herman Cain is the guy he thinks Obama should talk to about jobs?
5:22 PM PT: Major technical difficulties with John Harris' first question to Romney. I think it was about Romneycare, because Rick Perry said something about the individual mandate. Romney says he wants to repeal Obamacare, but launches into a defense of the individual mandate.
5:27 PM PT: Rick Perry says the people of Texas don't want Romneycare. And they want the Federal government out of health care. Because 25% of Texans don't have health insurance. So clearly they wouldn't want to have the Massachusetts system in which just about everybody has coverage. Perry blames the high uninsurance rate on the Federal government. He says he wants Medicaid block granting...which basically means he wants the Federal government to give states a huge blank check. Because Rick Perry hates government handouts and stuff.
5:28 PM PT: John Harris asks Michele Bachmann about Romneycare and in response she points out that "Obamacare" took over one-sixth of the American economy (a total bullshit claim). And then she says Congress has to repeal health care reform, and that she won't rest until she does it.
