It pains me to inform the Readers & Book Lovers group that we are, once again, without a diary entry this week. The person who was scheduled for this week's installment has not queued a diary, and has not responded to messages.
I have to say that I have been having some problems with messaging since the latest DK4 update, so there is every possibility that my fellow Kossack has also been having issues (doesn't appear to have been at DK since the change-over).
So what shall we do? How about an open forum? More below the fold.
Take anywhere from one to five sentences to comment on a book (or some books) that have changed, informed and/or impacted your life. You can just name the book, you can elaborate on why, you can recommend others read the book. Your call; nobody's grading.
I'll start:
This is actually not a book; it was an article in the journal Paleobiology, which I read in college:
Punctuated Equlibria by Niles Eldredge and Stephen Jay Gould.
This article not only changed how I thought about Evolution, the scientific theory, but it has informed how I think about personal evolution and growth. A must read. I am more inclined to be optimistic, even when it seems that I am stuck in the mud.
And how about you?
