Talk about it here. Watch it live on FNC or (better yet) at
YouTube.
7:12 PM PT: Gary Johnson says the number one national security threat we face is our massive debt. Wild applause. Then he says he'd submit a balanced budget. Applause. Then he says he'd cut defense spending by 43%. Total silence. Then he says he's cool with resuming flights to Cuba. Booes.
7:14 PM PT: Michele Bachmann interjects on Cuba: she says it's a state sponsor of terror, and she'd never let people fly to Fidel bin Castro's home country. (Note to self: My God has Bachmann fallen far...she's no longer engaging in battle with Rick Perry ... now she's been reduced to scoring points by attacking Gary Johnson.)
7:15 PM PT: Jon Huntsman and Rick Santorum get into a fight about whether or not military adventurism makes sense. Yawn!
7:17 PM PT: Megyn Kelly has a question for "Congressman McBachmann." She extols the virtues of a Christian influence on government by talking about Thomas Jefferson. Ms. Bachmann, meet The Jefferson Bible.
7:18 PM PT: Rick Santorum is asked about Don't Ask Don't Tell by a gay soldier who supports DADT's repeal. The crowd booed the soldier for being gay. Santorum says he'd reinstate DADT ... but wouldn't throw out anyone who was gay who had come out since DADT repeal. Which is, like, totally inconsistent.
7:21 PM PT: Ron Paul is asked how can he say he's pro-life if he defends the morning after pill and the rape exception for abortion. Paul restrains the urge to call Kelly crazy and says it would be impossible to enforce a prohibition of the morning after pill in the case of rape. Next up, Rick Perry talks about how much he likes George W. Bush, but that he disagreed with him on "Medicaid Part D." Except it was "Medicare Part D." And Perry also says he hates No Child Left Behind. (Way to stick your neck out, Rick.)
