If y'all hear anything in the news about new space debris falling to Earth, let me know so I can make some travel plans. Otherwise, I'll just occupy myself in the following activity until then.
Let's get historical for previous October 3rds! On October 3, 1873, Emily Post, the American authority on proper etiquette, was born. I'd probably be on her "ill - mannered" list for wanting to go all SuperSoaker full of muddy water on a whole lot of people in my life, yes?
On this date in 2005, with all props to Bill Maher for the word choice, GWB nominated his White House cleaning lady, Harriet Miers, to SCOTUS. Her choice was actually bipartisanly oggie to BOTH sides, so she had the "wisdom" to withdraw herself from consideration a few weeks later.
Let's Countdown!
How many ties has Keith ruined by spilling stuff on them? Poor guy must be out of 'em by now. Oh, won't someone think of the ties? Wait...uh...that might not have been the thing to say. Nevermind...
#5 "Occupy Wall Street" AKA "Occupy U.S.A." - I guess tonight's going to be all "Occupy Wall Street" for the most part. Well, when Occupy Wall Street tried to occupy the Brooklyn Bridge, it would appear some NYPD played a little entrapment game to arrest a whole lot of the people - to the tune of 700 or so! Sorry, I'm not impressed by the zombie shtick. People are already having a tough enough time taking the protestors seriously; wearing zombie stuff won't help. A whole lot of people marched in Boston, Durham NC, Albuquerque, Denver, etc. The NYPD's getting into the video posting game to boost their case for all the arrests; another video shows that most protestors probably couldn't hear the instructions from the cops. Ryan Devereaux was on the Brooklyn Bridge this past weekend; protestors were disagreeing about a path to take on the bridge. Ryan said the arrests were "heavy handed" and rather random; protestors were being just plucked from the crowd. Jeff Madrick went to Occupy Wall Street this past weekend! :) And, he's in studio tonight. The protestors are actually a courteous & educated lot; well, THAT won't stay in line with "conventional wisdom." :D The economic facts support the emotion behind Occupy Wall Street/Occupy America. CNN thinks Occupy Wall Street is anti - bailout? Well, CNN has the credibility of a science advisor for Governor Secession. Mr. Madrick's not concerned about a "list of things to do" for the Occupy {Insert City Here} efforts.
{I have a shorter fuse than usual for Michael Moore tonight, so if you want to discuss his segment, you're welcome to in the comments.}
#3 "Tomorrow the World?" - More Michael Moore? {sigh} Again, "occupy" efforts are going all over the country & all over the world.
"Time Marches On!" - YES - a sanity break!! I've never watched an episode of the Dick Van Dyke Show in my life. From the clips I've seen, it was Mary Tyler Moore in capris whining "Oh Rob!", and they somehow had a kid even though they slept in separate beds. Babies in the 1950s must have been found under cabbage leaves or something. A kitty - with 2 faces. Ugh, poor thing! There's big 'ol pumpkins in my neighboring state. A bunch of MENSA members drank ranch dressing for free sandwiches.
WPITW - Mayor Bloomberg had some BRILLIANT comments about Occupy Wall Street. Hank Williams, Jr. was with FAUX & "Friends" this morning; he didn't like Speaker Sobber playing golf with President Obama & compared President Obama to Hitler. And, people wonder why I don't like country music. 99% of country music peeps are just like him. ESPN has apparently reached a separation "agreement" with Mr. Hank! Well, he can always go out & tour with Ted Nugent. Supporters of the "GOP" don't know what "GOP" stands for. I kind of like the "Grumpy Old People" one my own darn self; it's about the damn truth! ;D
#1 "Rick on the Rocks?" AKA "Losing the Race" - Governor Secession's "N - Word" hunting camp won't cost him the election, Keith. Other equally prominent bat$hitters have come that close to uttering that word & still have their jobs. Governor Secession ain't going anywhere. It took a long time for the name to be painted over or the rock to be tipped over. And, how rich is it that "Herb" Cain called out the use of the word?! ;D Jimmy Izrael thinks this camp might be Governor Secession's "macaca moment," but the originator of said "moment" nearly won the Senate in VA, so that didn't exactly kill his career, and he's running for Senate AGAIN! So, again, Governor Secession ain't going anywhere. Mr. Jimmy's not buying "Herb" Cain's come - to - Jesus moment, either. Keith, the reason there was no "immediate effort to do anything about it" is because IT'S TEXAS! How long did it take for a white man who drug an African - American man behind a truck on a gravel road to the point where he was decapitated to receive "the ultimate punishment"? A long damn time! Keith asked about racists "being smart" about being racist. Keith, do you know about the poll in Mississippi where over half the GOBP there think interracial marriage should be outright illegal or didn't know if it should be legal?! RACISTS DON'T CARE.
