Most of you already recognize the name UnaSpenser. She has been following Occupy Wall Street since day 1. It was a natural transition from her blogging with Eyes on Egypt and the Region. In the beginning, UnaSpenser served as a witness from afar but within days, she could no longer stay at home. She felt the need to attend Occupy Wall Street in person. In her diaries, we learn about the General Assembly, about the marches, about the mental health counseling she helped provide to occupiers on the ground.
UnaSpenser is back home and supporting the efforts of her local OccupyBoston. Her latest diaries document the angst that accompanies any new form of governance. While writing honestly of the problems, she clearly communicates the positives as well. From her writing, we are learning about the Direct Democracy process, first hand. Just in case her personal stories weren't enough, she wrote A Primer on Consensus and the General Assembly that should be mandatory reading for anyone trying to understand or emulate Occupy Wall Street.
Last night I learned that her computer is on it's last legs. It functions, but we don't know for how much longer. I for one, don't want to find out. We need UnaSpenser's writing here at DailyKos.
I am asking you to donate to theUnaSpenser Computer Fund so that we can keep our wonderful diarist typing away!
