I doubt anyone will read it there.
I am not even sure at this point that it even matters.
But I am trying
Trying to make sense of all of this.
Somebody please tell me why the only thing that isn't being chanted, or shouted at the Police in unison isn't this:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Why isn't every BS Curfew law that these mayors are citing not met with a simple response of quoting the 1st Amendment?
My letter below the fold...be gentle fellow Kossacks
Dear President Obama.
I voted for you in 2008. I knocked on doors for you and made phone calls in my CD (the 28th) all during the primaries because I thought you would be different. I have watched you talk internationally about Universal Human Rights and the suppression of those Rights in Egypt and Syria and Tunisia and Iran and Libya. I have watched you and Hillary speak from on high declaring that these now defunct oppressive governments must "Listen to the People and stop the violence against them exercising the universal human right of expression".
I want to ask...When will you apply those words to the country that has elected you the President? Do you feel any shame at all at the way things have shaken out in regards to the looting of our lives by the corruption and lack of accountability of the very people and system that crashed our lives for the next generation?
I have never written a letter to anyone in government before, because I always thought it was a futile, useless gesture. You have to understand that a whole generation of Americans have believed that you would make a difference But to watch you sit on your hands while peaceful people from all walks of life are exercising their 1st Amendment Rights and getting unconstitutionally beaten, and gassed, and intimidated, by Police all across this land is beyond understanding.
Do you not know that your silence, your inaction against these brutal police forces will only serve to make the desperate more desperate? You and the rest of the world has witnessed what happens when the people have had enough. I remember when you said in Denver's DNC speech "ENOUGH".
Now is not the time to be silent. Seize the day. Be our champion. Be my President.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".
Please watch this video and ask yourself if this is what you want your legacy to be.
