Welcome to bookchat where you can talk about anything...books, plays, essays, and books on tape. You don’t have to be reading a book to come in, sit down, and chat with us.
In the past few days, I have been ordering books from my wish list at Barnes & Noble.
I cleared off quite a lot and I am adding them to my To-Be-Read Pile that had gotten a bit low. I am certainly prepared for winter, now. I admit that I ordered some of them from the used books because the price of paperbacks has soared.
I also admit this does not help the author, but I hope it helps the economy. Some books were not available except as used. I am grateful for the chance to find them. I have mainly had good luck with ordering used books. There was the time a few years back when a small paperback arrived with a tire track across the package and the cover torn off. I taped it back on, read it, enjoyed it and recently bought it brand new for a re-read.
I have had a few books never show up. But usually I am very happy.
It is that time of year when your friends and relatives might want to know what gifts you would like and a wish list can be very helpful.
Some of the books I recently bought were:

So, I've decided to save everyone money for holiday gift buying and we'll read (a free on Amazon) e-book, Spirit Falls by Robert E. Townsend that received high praise from Robert Olen Butler. Discussion here, THU, Dec. 8th, 2 PM (ET).
