Sadly, due to my work schedule, I am no longer able to do the transcripts for these Daily Show and Colbert Report segments. :-( I still want to post the highlights from these shows, in hopes they can reach a wider audience, because I really do feel Jon and Stephen can really frame the proper media narrative. Watch below to see why Newt Gingrich sounded more like someone about to become a supervillain.
That wasn't a concession speech, that was like a thinly veiled passive-aggressive speech that an individual makes right before they slink away to a skull-shaped cave in a volcano, and re-emerge in five years as supervillain Baron Von Gingrich! "I am the Dark Lord of Chaos!!! Who is laughing now, Romney?"
Videos below the fold.
On Tuesday, Jon explained to the GOP why they'll settle for Mitt Romney as their nominee despite Rick Santorum's surge.
Then everyone's favorite muppet terrorist Gitmo made a return appearance to talk about the consequences of the
NDAA!
Meanwhile, Stephen covered the
Iowa caucus and talked with a
caucus-goer's choice before bringing out his own
animal prognosticator.
He then took a look back at
Kim Jong Il.
Stephen then talked with Sen.
Bernie Sanders (I-VT) about the corrupting influence of money in politics.
Then last night, Jon looked at the
losers and
winners of the Iowa caucus, along with CNN's latest fun technology to cover the caucuses.
He then talked with Wyatt Cenac about
God's role in picking a winner in Iowa.
His guest was
Elizabeth Dowling Taylor, who has a new book out about Paul Jennings, who was one of James Madison's slaves. Dolly Madison does NOT come off looking good at all in this.
Stephen covered the Iowa caucus results and the influence of super PACs in destroying Newt Gingrich before mocking the coverage of it on Fox News and CNN.
And he had a rather PG-13 interview with
John Heilemann about New Hampshire and Rick Santorum. :-)
