You see, this is a blog about electing Democrats, but I was told, in a highly recommended diary:
It isn't a president, whether his name is Ron Paul or Barack Obama who gets good things done. It is us, demanding change and threatening to literally shut the system down (whether we mean Wall Street, the Port of Oakland, the Wisconsin state capitol, Columbia University, a Woolworth's lunch counter, or the Montgomery, Alabama bus system) who force presidents and lawmakers to bend to the public will.
Electing Democrats is therefore irrelevant and a waste of time and energy. That is, however the mission of this site, so this site must be pointless and purposeless. It appears that we should all be out in the streets instead.
I guess I can do that, old and tired as I am. I at least know how - I was once a cynical idealist and took to the streets about a host of issues in the fifties, sixties, seventies, and, of course, against the Bush wars. Won some and lost some, but, what the heck. OTOH, if the poster thinks that, then why isn't said poster out in the streets? His only reference to personal street time was going to Ron Paul functions and arguing with the Paul supporters, which ain't going to get any sitting lawmakers to change their views about anything.
The only thing odd, is that the poster posted that here. Seems oddly conflicted, as did all the ranting about who one should and should not support. Who gives a shit who anybody supports, nothing matters except taking to the streets, right?
