The Daily Bucket is a place to record your observations of the natural world, for both scientific and personal posterity. Flowers, shoots, bird songs, frog calls, the first migrants of spring, the last leaves of fall, all are grist in the mill of the Daily Bucket. Please let us know what you see around you, remembering to let also let us know, at least approximately where you are.
I don't see any Daily Bucket entries in today's queue, so here goes. We don't want anyone to suffer withdrawal symptoms.
Here in Macon, Georgia, we are basking in 68 degree warmth with barely a cloud in the sky. The storm system that brought tornadoes to Alabama yesterday morphed into a rain event by the time it reached here. Warm and rainy yesterday, mild and foggy last night, but beautiful today.
Saw my first two butterflies of the season a few minutes ago. Cloudless sulphurs, I believe. They were in the neighbor's yard, making what appeared to be amorous advances towards one another. I was afraid I'd have to avert my eyes, but then they split up and began exploring the dandelion flowers that have recently appeared.
It made me feel a bit of regret for having ruthlessly eliminated dandelions from my yard.
That's the scoop from my neck of the woods. Your turn!
