The Jury has deliberated and returned a verdict. According to the Indianapolis Star,
A Hamilton County jury found Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White guilty on six of seven felony charges early this morning in his voter fraud trial.
The charges include 3 counts of voter fraud, 2 counts of perjury, 1 count of theft, and 1 count of fraud on a financial institution. The jury returned a verdict around 2:30 today. The only count that now disgraced, and former Secretary of State was acquitted of was fraud on a financial institution.
As was noted in this Daily Kos Elections Live Digest from January 30th of this year, you can catch up on the story from this Indianpolis Star article.
Meanwhile, Mitch Daniels has already appointed Chief Deputy Secretary of State Jerry Bonnett to the now sullied office of Indiana's Secretary of State.
I wonder if there is any national press in the area that can cover this story.
UPDATE - About that appointment by Mitch Daniels: on the 21st of December, 2011, in a judgement by the Marion Circuit Court, the Indiana Recount Commission was instructed (pdf) to declare
...that Charlie White was not eligible to be a candidate for the office of Secretary of State and to certify the candidate who recieve the second highest number of votes, Vop Osili, as Secretary of State.
