The Obama campaign is taking on Mitt Romney for his newfound opposition to providing birth control. "Say Anything Mitt," they point out with this handy infographic. It's yet another new position for Romney, because "Mitt Romney is attacking the President for providing women with the same access to contraception and preventive health care services Romney did as governor."
Here's the comparison:
Republican voters aren't going to miss the message on yet another Romney flip-flop, either. Newt Gingrich
won't let that happen. The far right primary voter is going to see Romney as a Johnny-come-lately flip-flopper on the issue. Everyone else is just going to trust him even less.
Of course, this issue completely loses salience in the campaign if the administration decides to water down the rule because the Catholic bishops are continuing to whine about it. Obama must continue to stand strong on this issue.
Send an email to the White House and tell President Obama to stand firm on requiring all health insurers to cover contraception without co-pays.
