If you're anything like me, at some point in your life you've participated in a Komen "Race for the Cure" event. And, in that case, you're on Komen's e-mail list. I am. Or at least I was, until a few minutes ago.
You see, today I got an e-mail from Nancy Brinker, ex-Ambassador to Hungary and current head of Komen. Ambassador Brinker explained how "challenging" and "upsetting" things were right now. And then she asked for my continued support.
In response, I took two simple steps. First, I unsubscribed from the Komen e-mail list. And second, when I realized you could (i.e., it wasn't from a no-reply-possible message), I responded to Ambassador Brinker's missive with a short, sweet "I'm sorry, but I can no longer support the Komen Foundation" note of my own.
That's all you have to do. No need to go into any sort of long explanation or (as much fun as those can be). Just unsubscribe and, if you like, write a short note. Believe me, they'll get the message.
